The mission of The Dale Earnhardt Foundation is to “Continue The Legend™” and legacy of Dale Earnhardt through charitable programs and grants that sustain his lifelong commitment to Children, Education and Environmental Preservation.
We are heavily involved in programs that were major parts of Dale’s life. We are looking for people with ideas and passion to help make the world a better place through acts both small and great.
Dale Earnhardt Legacy Programs
Dale Earnhardt Foundation CONNECT Scholarship
The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University has developed a program, CONNECT, which reaches out to our environmental leaders of tomorrow. For students who know they have a passion for the environment or working outdoors, discovering the right educational path can open a world of career options. In the College of Natural Resources, students find a home that provides a comprehensive educational experience and prepares them for success after graduation.
The Dale Earnhardt Environmental Leadership Campus / E Camp
The Dale Earnhardt Environmental Leadership Campus, also known as E Camp, is a 700-acre campus in Statesville, NC, that serves as a retreat for Girl Scouts, leaders and the community. Dale Earnhardt Foundation’s $2M gift in 2013 allowed ongoing development of the campus including the 25-acre lake.
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Book Drive
As part of Teresa Earnhardt’s volunteer involvement with the Center of Hope’s “A Fresh Coat of Paint” initiative, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Book Center project has been created to provide much-needed reading material to the thousands of women and children that temporarily call the shelter home.
A Fresh Coat of Paint
The Center of Hope, a Charlotte women and children’s shelter operated by The Salvation Army, will undergo an interior redesign and refurbishment at the direction of Teresa Earnhardt who has volunteered to provide a critically needed boost to the facility.
The One Campaign
From Hollywood to the heartland, over 1.5 million Americans have joined ONE, making it one of the fastest growing non-partisan issue campaigns in American history. Supports of ONE have written more than 250,000 letters to the White House calling for a comprehensive plan to address global AIDS and extreme poverty in Africa.
Legend Leadership Award
Do you have a solution that can impact your world?
This is a chance for those that see problems, but never had a way to voice them, to bring awareness to an issue in addition to a solution. Exemplifying leadership qualities by identifying a problem and offering a solution are the qualities the Foundation is searching for in award winners.
The Dale Earnhardt Motorsports Scholarship
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation funds an annual undergraduate scholarship honoring the memory of Dale Earnhardt Sr. for students interested in motorsports and automotive engineering.
Back To School Tour
In 2006 The Dale Earnhardt Foundation hosted a special “Back To School Tour” across the country. Planned in conjunction with Feed The Children and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, two of the nation’s foremost child relief agencies, each city’s Boys & Girls Clubs received a visit by the special Dale Earnhardt Foundation/Feed The Children semi tractor-trailer.
Feed The Children
On October 14, 2004, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation sponsored a Feed The Children semi tractor-trailer truck of food, milk and personal care items to help needy children and families in the Mooresville/Iredell County area. The delivery was part of the Foundation’s partnership with international hunger relief organization Feed The Children.
Living Classrooms
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation and American Forests, the nation’s oldest conservation organization, have partnered on an exciting environmental and educational project called the “Dale Earnhardt Forest.” As a part of this effort, a number of schools will be selected and designated “Dale Earnhardt Living Classrooms.”
The Dale Earnhardt Forest
The goal of the Dale Earnhardt Forest is to restore trees to the city of Charlotte and to restore wildlife habitat, expand greenways, and return trees to riparian areas, then to expand the Dale Earnhardt Forest to the 16 states he raced in during his career and ultimately across the United States.
Louisiana Wetland Project
In 2003, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation was one of many environmental organizations and foundations that supported a Ducks Unlimited project for the restoration of earthen dams that protect 58,000 acres of wetlands in Southwest Louisiana.
E-Wheelers
In the Dale Earnhardt Inc. Paint and Body Shop, four wheels turned to three when the E-Wheelers rolled in.
The Driving Zone: Essential Techniques For New Drivers
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation has partnered with five-time road racing champion, and 2005 Speed World Challenge GT Champion GM/Cadillac Racing, Andy Pilgrim for a thirty-minute educational video for new drivers.
